The page begins with this question, but actually the real question is, “How are you ego unconscious?” The overwhelming majority of us (self-included) have lived, are living, or will live some degree of ego unconsciousness. What makes us different is the depth of our ego unconsciousness and the source(s) of it. This is thoroughly discussed in The Ego Unmasked within the confines of ego size (your ego’s need for power and control), ego permeability (your ego’s degree of flexibility), and ego fragility (your ego’s degree of healthy/unhealthy vulnerability). Due to this description and discussion of ego being new territory you may want some examples of what ego unconsciousness looks like in a person as they are living it. The following examples provide a very brief list as humans have a seemingly inexhaustible capacity to manifest their ego unconsciousness. Aside from specific examples, I have also indicated the ego component(s) which are contributing to the ego unconsciousness being lived and which that particular person would want to work on using Ego Therapy.

-The “neat freak” (high ego fragility)
