Our journey to higher levels of ego consciousness and deeper levels of spiritual consciousness involves four specific “locations” that we can be at within this journey.  Each of these locations involves different degrees of ego and spiritual consciousness and unconsciousness.  The word awareness can be used for the word consciousness if it helps to establish a better understanding of this process.  These locations are: ego unconsciousness, ego consciousness, egospiritualism, and spiritual consciousness.  I will provide a brief synopsis of what is meant by the first three locations and their linkage to The Ego Unmasked.  I must defer to the brilliant minds and writings of people such as Eckhart Tolle, Wayne Dyer, Carol Obley, and other metaphysical writers who have written so eloquently about spiritual consciousness. 

Ego Unconsciousness

At this location people are ego unconscious and often spiritually unconscious.  However, people can be ego unconscious in different ways and to different degrees.  This depends upon the ego type(s) they are living including the size (power), permeability (flexibility), and fragility (vulnerability) of their ego and how far removed from the balance point, one or more of these components is.  Unfortunately, their ego unconsciousness is blinding themselves to how they are functioning in the ten key life areas and locking them into less pathological or more pathological ways of dealing with them dependent upon their ego type(s).  Most people (self-included) have lived or are living some degree of ego unconsciousness.  Ego unconsciousness has a negative impact upon spiritual consciousness.  The more removed we are from knowing ourselves, the more removed we are from knowing God, and knowing the God within us.  Some people try to compensate for this distance by becoming very religious.  Religious extremists are some of the most ego unconscious and spiritually unconscious persons you could ever meet.  Their intolerance, anger, and destructiveness blinds them to the Godness which exists within them.  The primary mission of The Ego Unmasked is to move the reader from the first to second location along the path where a person can work on bringing their ego into balance while opening the door to their spiritual consciousness. 

Ego Consciousness

This is the location where you are actively working on your ego to bring it closer to, if not at, the balance point involving your ego size (power), permeability (flexibility), and fragility levels (vulnerability).  As you progressively become more aware of and better manage your ego it is becoming more of a friend and less of an enemy to you in your life.  You are beginning to notice the quality of improvement in your ego as you move toward the balance point that is reflected in the ten key life areas as you manage them.  You are getting to know and experience the beautiful human being you are.  Your spiritual consciousness is beginning to awaken and broaden as you are beginning to get better at not getting in your way.  You are beginning to realize that God was always present within you and how the unconscious and dysfunctional aspects of your ego type(s) were blocking this awareness partially if not completely.  At this location, The Ego Unmasked is providing you with all of the specific knowledge that you will need to undertake the awareness and management processes that inevitably and naturally lead to ego enhancement.  You were designed by God to be healthy and self-healing within the confines of your human and Godly nature.  You will now understand this and how to go about doing so.

Egospiritualism

This is the location where you are able to fully accept your Ego Self and are able to embrace your Divine Self.  You know and live the understanding that God is love, life, energy, and you.  You relish in the awareness that your life is a gift, your ability to create life is a gift, that you have the gift of God within you, and that you have the gift of eternal life.  You know and live the incredible power of your being while being completely at peace within yourself, the people in your life, and the World at large.  You know no fear and are completely motivated by love in your dealings with life.  You know and experience God’s love for you.  You are actively working with passion to fulfill your life’s purpose.  You fully respect your mind and your body.  At this location your spiritual consciousness is fully blossoming.  It is unencumbered by your ego self.  You are transcending the inherent weakness of your human nature with the power and strength of your Divine Self.  Rather than working as two resistant forces, your Ego Self and Divine Self are acting in concert.  The main influences The Ego Unmasked has upon this consciousness is to have helped the reader to discover the positive potential within their ego self, the destructive influence that an unconscious and out of balance ego can have upon spiritual consciousness and the ability to work in concert with your Ego Self rather than needing to be disowned or dissolved.  The Ego Unmasked has no direct impact upon your spiritual consciousness as God is ever present within your being, even when you didn’t know it.  Its primary role is to open the doors of the first two locations that will allow you to move more deeply into your spiritual consciousness.

Spiritual Consciousness

This is the final destination along the path of consciousness. As we move further into spiritual consciousness, the Divine Self of our being moves further and further into the foreground of our human life and the Ego Self moves further and further into the background. Some may say that it dissolves completely. If so, it becomes extinguished only after it has come into balance and served its purpose of assisting us with getting home to God during our earthly, physical existence. Absent this purpose, it has no constructive reason to exist and the destructive reasons for its existence have been addressed. We have undergone the transformation and healing of our ego. We can now fully transcend it into complete God consciousness. We are the Love, Life, and Energy that is God. We understand the Four Great Gifts which we have received. There is no separateness or otherness. We are completely joined with God and all others as One.
