There are some key differences from previous writings about ego and human consciousness which are embodied in The Ego Unmasked that I would like to bring to your attention. These differences are noteworthy as they are fundamental to your personal evolution as well as to our global society.

  • The evolution of human consciousness actually involves two consciousnesses. Movement from ego unconsciousness to ego consciousness and movement from spiritual unconsciousness to spiritual consciousness.

  • There is no generic ego. Egos for different people are unique and differ in both their content and their structure.

  • Ego does not dissolve when one becomes aware of it but can be managed and enhanced via our capacity for ego awareness.

  • Ego does not have to be our “enemy” but can be our friend in the service of God.

  • Ego is part of our wondrous, beautiful human nature that we can utilize to work with the challenges of our physical, human existence.

  • A healthy ego can be in the present and is not resigned to “living” in the past or in the future.

  • A healthy ego can live in satisfaction and is not resigned to seeking more, being better than, always needing to be right, taking everything personally, engaging in selective perception and distorted interpretations, confusing opinions and viewpoints with facts, or needing to find enemies.

  • You can like and love your healthy ego as an instrument for bringing you into peace and being fully present.

  • A healthy ego can be sane and work with the sanity of your “Divine Self”.

  • The ego can be healed with the mental medicine that consists of reality based thinking and relevant ego awareness.

  • We do not need to be free of our ego but to embrace our capacity to bring it to healthiness.

  • Human thought is a wondrous, beautiful tool that can be used in our transformation to ego consciousness, a healthy ego, and spiritual consciousness, &

  • Egospiritualistic consciousness which represents a blending of our “Ego Self” and our “Divine Self” is the consciousness that humankind is truly seeking.
